L’Oreal announced the winners of its International Awards for Social Responsibility in Dermatology, “Caring to Inspire Skin Confidence” at the 23rd World Congress of Dermatology, which was recently held in Vancouver, Canada.

The Awards celebrate the often unseen efforts and hard work carried out by dermatologists worldwide. L’Oreal received 118 applications from around the globe, which were evaluated by an independent Steering Committee of six world-renowned dermatology experts. One winner per region was selected.

The winning dermatologists are: Prof. Khalid Mohammed AlGhamdi from Saudi Arabia; Dr. Jeong Chan-woo from South Korea; Dr. Ksenia Sorokina from Russia; Dr. Gioconda Gaudiano from Republic of Panama; and Dr. Danielle Marcoux from Canada.

The winners will receive funding to reward the initiative and to help them continue their project. The winners’ projects fall into one of these three categories: Prevention and Education; Improved Quality of Life and Self-Esteem; and Access to Care Coverage and Surgery.
